Northern Classic 65 (2008)

Northern Classic 65 (2004) Blue Heron - Price on request

The Northern Classic 65 is a sailing yacht designed by the famous Dutch Yacht designer Martin Bekebrede. It was then optimized, equipped and furnished by industrial/interior designer Marcel Tamminga. A modern classic with a timeless design  offering maximum comfort for two people. The result is a spacious, comfortable, extremely seaworthy and robust sailing yacht that can easily be sailed alone without the need for an extra crew.

Elegance

The elegant lines give this yacht a striking appearance on the water, this coupled with the generous length give rise to admiring looks and positive reactions from bystanders. The ship has a very high level of equipment and is excellently finished. The timelessly classic superstructure is combined with a modern underwater hull and has a deep tilt keel with which the ship can vary in depth from 1.60m to 3.30m, it gives the Blue Heron a very large sailing range and makes it easy to call at shallow and tidal harbours. The equipment of this ship however, is far from classical: hydraulically driven winches and furlers with which the sails are operated and a powerful bow thruster make this ship easy to handle for everyone. In the spacious cockpit, which can be equipped with a bimini, everyone can find a sheltered place. The helmsman has all the instruments at his fingertips and can operate both the engine and the sails from there. The ship has a genoa and a jib, both hydraulically operated and a mainsail that rolls in the boom. The  length and the considerable weight of the ship ensure pleasant sea-going and with the considerable waterline length, smooth crossings are easy.

Interior

The interior built by Scheepstimmerwerf Stui is exceptional: no dark lacquered mahogany, but a tastefully contemporary open, sleek, and light design using American walnut, polished stainless steel and natural stone.  American oak floor is fully and conveniently equipped. Many extras that make sailing in different climates pleasant, such as underfloor heating and air conditioning, with an energy supply that allows you to stay free from the shore for a long time. The deckhouse offers protection in case of less clement weather and also in the evenings it is pleasant, with its all-round views. Further to fore you first enter the spacious main cabin/saloon, with the spacious and fully equipped galley to starboard. On the port side there is a guest cabin with next to it a day toilet/laundry room where also the washer/dryer combination is housed. In the saloon there is a (movable) table with dark leather upholstered benches all round. Further forward, behind a watertight door is the owner's cabin, with private bathroom and spacious double bed, and a second TV, concealed behind a mirror door. Of course, there is plenty of closet space built in throughout the ship.

Versatile

Whether you would like to go on a long trip with a small group of people or make a quick crossing to England with friends, hoisting the more than 100m2 gennaker: This ship offers the opportunity to do all these activities with ease. For representative purposes and sailing with business relations this ship offers many possibilities, the extensive galley will not limit you in that respect either.

Viewing

The ship can be visited by appointment. Would you like to enjoy a well-deserved rest and still make a long journey, but you don't want to compromise on comfort?  Would you like to invite your relations to sail in a relaxed atmosphere or an attractive family ship where you can enjoy a beautiful anchorage together; then we invite you to make an appointment for a free guided tour.
