Firefighter (1937)

Expedition ship (1937) - €145.000,-

This exceptional ship has been completely restored and converted into a private yacht by a Turkish shipyard owner. A special effort was made to preserve as many original features as possible. The ship was built for the Turkish Navy in Germany as a diving support vessel, and was later converted into a firefighting ship and tugboat. The ship has a Henschel marine diesel of 275 horsepower main engine. Location: City harbor Bodrum, Turkey.

This unique ship with its rich history is now for sale, after an extensive restoration process and conversion to a luxury yacht. The current owner, the shipyard owner of shipbuilding company Okyanus from Tuzla in Istanbul has taken this once derelict ship under his wing after it was taken out of service in 1987. It has been completely rebuilt according to the original plans and converted into a luxury yacht. Everything was updated during the restoration including the entire shell plating of the hull, thickness is 6mm.

The ship served for a long time in the port of Fenerbahce in Istanbul and after that in the RMK Shipyard in Istanbul and finally the military harbor in Bodrum and is now moored as a fire fighting boat and private yacht in the City Marina of Bodrum. The ship is fully licensed as a fireboat, and registered as a new ship after the restoration. The last complete survey was conducted in 2013, and the last propeller check was in 2015. Recent photos of the engine provide a good impression of the quality of the restoration.

This ship is fully equipped. The layout consists of Wheel house (main cabin), galley with dining table, captain's cabin and two extra cabins with 2 bunks each. The ship has six berths in total, 2x toilets and also a storage room. Furthermore is installed an Airco, heating and fridge.
