Finot 40 (1984)

Finot 40 Reve de Seychelles (1984) - Sold

A sturdy steel blue water boat suitable for long trips - to both warm and cold destinations. Ship

can easily be handled solo due to good positioning of the winches and that the sheets are

within easy reach. A genuine ocean going yacht with a calm sea behaviour. The sail layout can

easily be adjusted as there is an extra cutter jib. The third stay is for the storm jib. The reefing

system on the mast ensures maximum control where necessary. There is a fixed spray hood for

shelter and protection. Wind vane steering installed for longer crossings and electric auto pilot for sailing out and rigging.

Inside the first thing you notice is the light and airy main cabin, surrounded by windows. There is

U-shaped seating and a large chart table on the starboard side. Under the cockpit is a storage

space to starboard and a quarter berth to port. Fore is a cabin with a double bed and the galley

is opposite lengthways. The head is before the the bow. The bow itself has a double V berth. The cabin with double berth is suited for harbour use, whereas while underway the skipper will sleep in the main cabin. A really good diesel stove warms up the cabin in no time.

The owners choices for fitting this boat follow KISS principles ( Keep it Simple, Stupid) which

means there are no electric drinking water pumps, bilge is pumped out by hand, with a special day tank so there are no problems with fuel. The wind vane and solar panel mean that there is no dependence on shore power. The boat is in excellent condition, the owner had it for 14 years and made many ocean crossings and long trips over the years.

Brokers comments: A lovely boat with an excellent lay out. A boat with a history visible in the many signs of use. To fit this boat out for a new trip it does need some investments.
