Van de Stadt 43 Ketch (1983) - Verkocht
This ship was designed for long sailing trips. What first catches your eye is the smooth working deck. The cockpit is set to the rear and is well equipped. Operation of the winches are within reach. The two masts of the ketch rig can take a lot of different sails, which means the right sail can be easily chosen for any weather. The ships hull is sandwich built on a core, a layer of foam and then finished by hand using a layering method with polyester and fiberglass and afterwards the vessel has been evened out. This ensures a maintenance-free ship without risk of osmosis. The ship has a finn keel.
There are vents on deck for good ventilation below, ideal when sailing in southern regions. There are two entrances to below deck, the front gives access to the main cabin and the rear to the aft, separated from the main cabin. Up front is a third cabin with two double berths. The boat is comfortably furnished with a spacious galley, good headroom and plenty of storage space. From back to front, there is the cockpit, then - below deck the "sea cabin" which has three berths and further to fore the main cabin wit heads, galley and lots of seating, the front cabin has four berths and in the bow a large sail storage space. The ship has large tanks also useful when making long crossings. The ship is fully equipped.
Dimensions: length 12.90m, width 3,85m, draught (fixed keel) 2,05m, weight 12T, ballast 4,5T
