Yacht ELZA is a passage maker, fully equipped, well maintained and allows single handed cruising. 

​

The yacht is steered by means of a tiller. The tiller is made of kevlar and carbon. There is a trimflap at the backside of the rudder, which makes steering more comfortable. This also makes it easier for the automatic pilot, less force, so less power consumption. Windvane steering equipment is a Sailomat/Stayer with its own rudder and pendulum. These are removeable. There are several windvanes, one of which is made of carbon. Sailomat is absolutely the best windvane system on the market.
Electric autopilot is Raymarine type st4000+ with remote control. Rudder/skeg construction is drawn and adapted by Professor Gerritsma of Technical University Delft. Over the cockpit there is a cloth suncover which can be used while sailing.The woodwork (wainscot)

The sails are designed for easy handling. All sails are in good to excellent condition. Cutter rig, double furling system on foredeck, profiles and swivels brand Goiot, one electrical, one manual.

inside is mahogany, with a white ceiling and new teak flooring. The two lengthwise benches measure 6,4 and 6,2 ft  (1,95 and 1,90 mtr) with a small piece at square angles next to the main bulkhead. There is a lot of storage room in cupboards, under the floorboards, in and behind the benches. Over all the upholstery  covers have always been used, so the original upholstery cloth is as good as new. Its colour is beige as can be seen in the picture of the cushions next to the heater.   The diesel fuel heater is of the brand Dickinson and does not need electricity. There a plenty of ventilation spots.   The stove is a Force Ten, 4 burners with an oven, cardanically suspended.   The refrigerator is a Viltrifigro, doormodel, with a contents of 62 ltr = 16 gl and 4,5 ltr = 1.2 gl freezer, high performance Danfoss pump. The unit is built in such a way that normal functioning in the tropics is no problem.   In the head there is a new Jabsco manual pump toilet of which the plunger can be replaced from the outside. The outlet pipe is connected to the three-way valve which makes it possible to discharge to the greywater tank or outside.   The greywater tank can contain 50 ltr = 13 US gallon. It can be pumped empty with a manual pump. In the head there is a possibility for showering with a teak floor insert but the room is not used for that, there is a good shower facility at the back of the yacht. In that way there is less moisture, less fungus/mold and it is easier to clean. The front cabin is now being used as storage. Originally this was meant as cabin to sleep  for two people but the boards and mattresses have been removed.   To port and starboard there are shelves and all the way up front two cupboards. In the fore cabin there are two windows and two portholes that can be opened for ventilation.   The aft cabin has a lot of storage room under the wide two-person bed (approx queen size), lots of cupboards and ventilation possibilities.

Explanation and Slideshow

There is an ample foredeck with a powerful anchor winch and 3 furling reef systems
The deck hatches and windows in the hull have recently been replaced
At the stern there is a swimming/shower platform including a swimming ladder
There is a shower with hot and cold water
At the stern there is the wind vane steering gear as well as the arch for the solar panels and the wind generator
Below the aft deck there is a compartment for a gas container and two 10 liter jerry cans as well as containers with flammable materials
Steering is done by means of a tiller
In the center cockpit it is possible to lie down full length, there are cushions
The gangways are broad and are not slippery
In the main cabin there are two lengthwise benches alongside a fixed tabletop with a folding part
The chart table and navigation station are located to starboard
To port there is the galley with stove, refrigerator and sink. Water dilivery can be either by electric pump or foot pump
